2 Big steps to find work you love - Part 1: The Dig Your Work Story [ 22:55 ] Play Now | Play in Popup | Download
Ken Kuznia owns a recruiting company. He also has an awesome business for job seekers called Dig Your Work.
Ken and I were destined to meet. I had already “liked” his business, Dig Your Work, on Facebook earlier this year. Back then, I was only thinking about Love Your Work Life. It was months before I began to take action and probably 8 more months before Dr. Amy Myers, who I interviewed in September, asked me if I knew him. Only then did it occur to me to reach out to him. …It was meant to be.
Note: This is a great interview for some Dell employees!
Who is Ken Kuznia?
Ken Kuznia is a long-time Entrepreneur and President of a successful national recruiting firm.
Ken’s expertise in career transformation is derived from nearly a decade of coaching business professionals through the biggest employment moves of their careers. Through his coaching process, he has developed an incredible desire to help people find work they truly love in the midst of changing jobs. Ken understands that work is about more than collecting a paycheck and knows that when you love what you do for a living, your whole life is affected positively.
Highlights from Part 1 of our call:
- Most people don’t know hot to answer the question, “What do you want to be doing?”
- We discuss common self-limiting beliefs for job seekers and people unhappy in their current work.
- We discuss Ken’s process for helping people find work they love:
- Ken asks lots of targeted questions, then…
- Makes them a plan.
- “Identify what you want, not the ‘how,’ then move in the direction of your dreams.“
- Worth saying again: DON’T FOCUS ON THE “HOW.”
- Ken demonstrates how volunteering and “voluntourism” can change your life.
- He also illustrates the importance of “clearing your head.”
- “The reason why we fail most of the time when we try something new on our own is because we weren’t BUILT to go it alone. Get a coach or mentor to help you with your process.”
- Ken shares what works and what doesn’t work in how to get a job.
- “Finding work you love isn’t always about starting your own business. More often, it’s about finding a job you want.“
